2.5 - Breakout Session 2: Generating Assessment Criteria for BDT

Back to 2024 Agenda

Charge to Breakout Lead:

Introduction: Explain the topic and goals of each breakout room. Describe how BDT review will be formed.  Ask each attendee to continue to think about their own BDT idea.

During Breakout Sessions: Lead presenters can share their thoughts for what they think (straw person) the assessment criteria could be for a BDT and/or open it up to the group. Gather thoughts from breakout participants through two rounds of this exercise.

Charge to Participants:

Attend two different breakout rooms during the two rounds of this exercise. Participate in developing and improving the proposed assessment criteria being discussed.

Charge to Scribes:

Scribes will share the Project Assessment google slide template on the screen in the breakout room and will add thoughts from the group. The same document will be used for both breakout rotations, with a review of the first round's discussions presented to attendees in the second round. At the end of both rounds, each breakout room will have a completed Project Assessment template to serve as a finalized proposed list of assessment elements. Please help watch the time.

  3. The scribe will capture discussion on the Google slide(s) based on group input.
  4. A second round of breakouts will start at 2:00 pm and that group can help make further refinements.
  5. Following the breakout sessions, the Room Leads and scribe(s) will prepared to report back to the full group on the final draft assessment criteria list list.

Group Discussion - Questions to Ask About Your Proposed BDT Idea:

  • How should audiences assess the level of maturity for each of the BDT development challenges?
  • How can audiences develop an understanding of the current status/state of the project?
  • How can audiences understand the context of the project's evolution from concept to product?
  • How can you reduce audience skepticism and increase confidence that the writer is realistic about where the project is in development?
