The Collaborative Research in Computational Neuroscience (CRCNS) participating agencies are pleased to announce the release of the program solicitation for 2021 through 2023 (NSF 20-609), now available at http://www.nsf.gov/crcns/.
The next proposal deadline will be DECEMBER 10, 2020.
The program will consider domestic and international projects, including Research Proposals describing collaborative research projects and Data Sharing Proposals to enable sharing of data and other resources.
In addition to the National Science Foundation (NSF) and National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Energy (DOE) is now participating as a US funding partner. International funding partners include the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF); the French National Research Agency (Agence Nationale de la Recherche, ANR); the United States-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF); Japan's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT); and Spain's State Research Agency (Agencia Estatal de Investigación, AEI) and National Institute of Health Carlos III (Instituto de Salud Carlos III, ISCIII).
In addition:
* The description of scientific topics and approaches has been updated;
* Community-driven workshops or similar activities are encouraged, to map out new interdisciplinary frontiers;
* Agency contacts, agency-specific instructions, and allowable multilateral proposals have been updated;
* Information on Results from Prior Support is required if any PI or co-PI has received funding from any of the CRCNS participating funding organizations within the past five years; note that sharing of data, software, and/or other resources under prior support must be addressed; and
* Letters of collaboration should be limited to the revised format recommended in the proposal preparation instructions.
Proposals must be submitted in accordance with the revised NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) (NSF 20-1). Please pay attention to recent changes to NSF guidelines (https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/policydocs/pappg20_1/sigchanges.jsp), including required formats for biographical sketches and current and pending support.
Broad distribution of this announcement is encouraged. We look forward to receiving your proposals.
