Please help spread the word about an upcoming virtual Innovation Lab on Modeling Emergent Cellular Behavior in Cancer sponsored by the National Cancer Institute’s Cancer Systems Biology Consortium (see more below). This event may be of interest to participants in your programs and your research communities, and we’d appreciate your help in forwarding the information below to your listservs and twitter
The National Cancer Institute is hosting an Innovation Lab to generate creative strategies and new research collaborations aimed at improving understanding, prediction, and validation of dynamic cell-cell communication and emergent behaviors of cell ensembles in cancerous tissues. This 5-day virtual event will take place in February 25-26 and March 1-2 and 5, 2021. PI-level cancer researchers and clinician scientists, cell and developmental biologists, systems biologists, evolutionary biologists, engineers, physical scientists, and computer scientists, etc. are strongly encouraged to apply.
The Innovation Lab: Modeling Emergent Cellular Behavior in Cancer will bring together experts from a wide variety of fields to form new collaborations, ideate and refine new projects related to dynamic cell-cell communication and emergent cellular behaviors. Participants will also have the opportunity to contribute to a white paper aimed at shaping the direction of this developing research area. Applicants (30) who demonstrate a collaborative spirit and represent a variety of different disciplines, backgrounds and approaches will be selected to participate. The deadline to apply is December 7. At the end of the lab, participants will have met and formed new collaborations around innovative ideas with investigators from different fields. Opportunities for submission of project proposals across NIH and federal agencies will be highlighted during the workshop. Applicants must be willing to commit to active engagement for the entire duration of the Innovation Lab.
